Description

Three-lateral logging belongs to the focused electric-logging family and measures the lateral resistivity. Upper and lower guard electrodes A_P, together with the central measuring electrode A, supply currents of the same polarity, forcing the central-electrode current to be focused into a sheet that flows into the formation, thereby reducing the influence of borehole diameter and mud on the measurement. The armor serves as the B electrode, and the probe is isolated from the armor by an electric adapter (sub). The tool outputs four curves: lateral voltage, lateral current, lateral resistivity, and lateral conductivity.

This product line comes in two versions: digital and numerically controlled (NC). It is designed to meet the need for measuring lateral resistivity alone in small-diameter boreholes, and can simultaneously measure four parameters: lateral voltage, lateral current, lateral resistivity, and lateral conductivity.

It is currently widely used in coalfield, coal-bed methane (CBM), shale gas, hydrology, and radioactive uranium deposits.
