Description
The compensated sonic tool adopts a single-transmitter / four-receiver configuration and employs a high-transmit array acoustic beam-forming technology. It can automatically control the firing interval. With a long source spacing, it offers good compensation against borehole-diameter variations. It can be controlled from the surface via numerical control or software. The acoustic amplitude can be used to judge the quality of the first interface in cement bond evaluation.
It is mainly used in the interpretation of drilling sections for coal fields, coal-bed methane (CBM), shale gas, hydrology and engineering geology.
