Description

Compensated neutron porosity logging measures the fast neutrons emitted by a neutron source into the formation. At two points located at different source-to-detector spacings, thermal-neutron detectors measure the thermal neutrons that have been moderated and scattered back by the formation. The detector farther from the source is called the long-spacing (far) detector, and the nearer one is the short-spacing (near) detector. The formation porosity is determined from the ratio of the counting rates of the two detectors.

All sensors use domestically advanced neutron-measurement sensors, offering strong reception performance and reliable output. It is now widely used in coalbed methane, shale gas and other fields, and is one of the essential parameters measured in these applications.
