Description
This tool utilizes a motor-driven system to push the central rod, extending or retracting the three caliper arms. During upward logging, the three arms maintain close contact with the borehole wall, responding to variations in the borehole diameter.
This movement drives the internal caliper potentiometer sensor in a linear motion, thereby achieving borehole diameter measurement. The synchronized extension and retraction of the three arms output a single caliper signal. After simple processing, the sensor signal is transmitted to the surface recording equipment in a specific format to complete the logging operation.
Currently, it is primarily used in coal field, coalbed methane, hydrological, and engineering logging applications.
